The one people
name first.
Ask a Tuk-Dak buyer which flavour to get and this is usually the answer. Sweet, savoury and properly glazed, the closest thing here to a bento shop meal. It is also a 120g pack, our biggest.
This flavour contains molluscs and milk.
The teriyaki sauce is made with oyster extract, and the panel also declares milk. If you react to shellfish, molluscs or dairy, do not eat this one. Every other flavour in the range is free of both.

What buyers say about Teriyaki
Swipe for more →Is Teriyaki the right one for you?
Yes, if you want it to feel like a meal
The glaze is what does it. Over rice or noodles this reads as dinner rather than as a protein snack, which is why it is the flavour people name when asked.
Yes, if you want the biggest portion
At 120g it is 20g more chicken than Mild or Black Pepper for the same $5. Chilli is the other 120g pack.
No, if you react to shellfish or dairy
This is the only flavour with molluscs and milk in the panel. It is not a maybe. Take Mild, Black Pepper, Chilli or Taco instead.
One 120g chicken breast.
A whole breast in teriyaki glaze, sealed and sterilised in the pouch. The sauce is built on maltitol and sugar with oyster extract and soy sauce, which is where the depth comes from.
Single pack. For a mix of all five flavours, the 5-Pack Starter is $25.
Not sure Teriyaki is it?

Questions answered.
Why does it contain oyster?
Oyster extract is a standard base in Korean and Japanese teriyaki sauces. It carries the savoury depth that sugar and soy alone cannot. It also means this flavour declares molluscs, so anyone with a shellfish or mollusc allergy should avoid it. The panel also declares milk.
Is it very sweet?
It is sweet and savoury together rather than dessert-sweet. The panel shows 4g of sugars per pack, and part of the sweetness comes from maltitol rather than sugar. Buyers describe it as tasting like a Japanese bento or home-cooked teriyaki.
Why is this pack bigger?
Teriyaki and Chilli are 120g because the sauce is part of the weight. Mild, Black Pepper and Taco are 100g. All five are the same $5.
Do I need to refrigerate it?
Not until you open it. The pack is sealed and sterilised, so it keeps for 12 months at room temperature. Once opened, refrigerate and eat within 2 days.
Can I eat it straight from the pack?
Yes, it is fully cooked. Gently press the pack before opening to loosen the grain. Many buyers prefer this one warm, since the glaze loosens. Microwave the contents in a safe container for 20 to 30 seconds at 700W. Do not microwave the sealed pouch.
Is there onion or garlic in this one?
No. Across the range, Chilli is made with garlic and Taco with onion powder. Neither is a declarable allergen in Australia, but people ask, so here it is.
No preservatives, so why does it not spoil?
The pack is sealed first, then sterilised under heat and pressure at 115°C. It is the same principle as canned tuna. Food spoils because of bacteria and air, not because preservatives are missing, so no chemical preservatives or artificial additives are needed.

Why is the chicken pink in places?
This is the pinking phenomenon. The chicken is fully cooked, but myoglobin in the meat can leave a pink or reddish tinge. It is normal and safe to eat.
