A week of chocolate.
Seven grams of sugar.
That is the whole box, not one serve. 1g of sugars a pouch, seven days running, which is less than a single can of soft drink across the entire week. Real cocoa doing the work instead.
This flavour contains almond.
Roasted almond powder is part of the recipe, so the panel declares almond, a tree nut. If you react to tree nuts, the Roasted Grains 7-Pack is the same size and price with no nuts in it.
Thick, not chalky.
The body comes from cocoa, almond and brown rice rather than from sugar. That is what stops the powdery finish most low-sugar chocolate powders leave behind.
Plant-based milk makes it richer if you want it closer to a chocolate milkshake. Water keeps it lighter.

There is something to chew.
Most chocolate shakes are a liquid you swallow and forget. This one has little balls of roasted brown rice suspended through it, plus roasted almond in the mix, so there is texture in every mouthful.
They do not dissolve. They soften in the liquid and stay chewy, which reads closer to a chocolate malt than a smooth protein drink.
It also changes how the drink lands. Something you chew registers differently from something you gulp, and across seven days that is what keeps a chocolate flavour from feeling repetitive.
If you want a completely smooth drink with nothing in it, this is not that. Worth knowing before you order a whole week of them.

Seven pouches, seven places.
Leave a few at work
Three in the office drawer covers the 3pm chocolate craving for most of the week.
One lives in the gym bag
Flat and light on the way in. Mixed at the bubbler on the way out.
Take one on the weekend
Weighs 40g until you add water, which is the opposite of carrying a full bottle up a hill.
A box of seven is not one place, it is several. Because each pouch is sealed and self-contained, you can spread them across a drawer, a bag and a car without opening anything.
Is a week the right amount?
Chocolate is the flavour people get sick of
One pouch tastes good to almost everyone. Seven days in a row is the real test of whether a chocolate shake still appeals, and that is exactly what this box answers.
It replaces the afternoon chocolate
Most people reach for something sweet mid-afternoon. At 1g of sugars and 22g of protein, this fills that gap without the crash that follows a chocolate bar.
Already know it works for you?
Then this is the expensive way to buy it. The Cacao 28-Pack is a month at $4.14 a pouch, ships free, and drops to $3.73 on a monthly subscription.
The two flavours, per 40g pouch.

Seven 40g pouches.
All Cacao. Pea protein carries 22g per pouch, cocoa powder does the flavour, roasted almond adds richness, and brown rice crunch gives the chewy pieces.
That is 154g of protein across the week with only 7g of sugars in the entire box.
Pouches are flat and light, so the box fits in a drawer rather than taking up a shelf.
All nine, including the one pea protein is short on.
Pea protein on its own is naturally low in methionine. That is the known gap in plant protein, and it is the reason people ask whether a vegan shake is a complete protein.
This formula adds L-methionine and L-leucine directly to the mix, so all nine essential amino acids are present in every pouch. Here is the full breakdown per serve rather than a claim.
Leucine
1,945 mg
Lysine
1,368 mg
Phenylalanine
1,167 mg
Valine
915 mg
Isoleucine
811 mg
Threonine
712 mg
Histidine
471 mg
Methionine
330 mg
Tryptophan
169 mg
Per 40 g serve. Leucine and methionine are highlighted because both are added to the formula rather than coming from the pea protein alone.
Three steps, no washing up.
Unscrew the cap
The pouch has a screw cap on a spout. No scoop and no measuring, since one pouch is one serve.
Add 200ml
Water keeps it light. Plant-based milk makes it richer and closer to a chocolate milkshake. Use less liquid for a thicker drink.
Cap on, shake, drink
Screw the cap back on and shake until smooth, then drink from the spout. It reseals, so you can put it down and come back to it. The empty pouch goes in the bin.
The bigger boxes work out cheaper.
Questions answered.
What are the allergens?
This product contains almond, a tree nut. Roasted almond powder is in the recipe. It is made on a line that also handles egg, milk, soy, peanut, wheat, walnut, shrimp, squid and sulphites, so the full precautionary statement is in the panel below. If tree nuts are a problem, the Roasted Grains 7-Pack has none.
What are the chewy bits, exactly?
Brown rice crunch, in small pieces through the drink. They soften but do not dissolve, so you chew them as you go. Along with the roasted almond, that is what gives this one more body than a plain chocolate shake.
Does it leak when you shake it?
No. The pouch has a screw cap on a spout, not a tear-open top, so it seals properly before you shake. It also means you can drink half, screw the cap back on and finish it later.
Are all seven the same flavour?
Yes, all seven are Cacao. If you want the nutty one instead, the Roasted Grains 7-Pack is the same size and price.
Is it gluten free?
There is no wheat or oats in the ingredients, unlike the Roasted Grains version which contains oats. However, it is produced on a shared line and the panel carries a precautionary statement for wheat, so it is not suitable for coeliacs.
How is the sugar only 1g?
The sweetness comes from maple powder and steviol glycosides rather than added sugar, and the cocoa carries the flavour. Most chocolate protein powders sit well above this because sugar is the easy way to cover a powdery finish.
How chocolatey is it?
Real cocoa powder is the second ingredient, so it reads as proper cocoa rather than sweet chocolate flavouring. It is lightly sweet rather than dessert-sweet. Mixing with plant-based milk pushes it closer to a chocolate milkshake.
Is it a complete protein?
All nine essential amino acids are present. Pea protein is naturally low in methionine, so L-methionine and L-leucine are added to the formula to fill that gap. The full per-serve breakdown is in the section above.
Can I use it as a meal replacement?
Plenty of buyers use it that way when they are short on time, and at 22g of protein, 3.8g of fibre and 565kJ it is a substantial drink. It is a supplementary food rather than a formulated meal replacement, so it is not designed to replace all your daily nutrition. If you are relying on it for a specific dietary purpose, talk to your GP or a dietitian.
How long does the box keep?
The pouches are dry powder, so they store in a cupboard away from direct sunlight. The best before date is printed on each pouch, and there is no need to finish the box in a week if your routine is not daily.
